Observations by Coach Joe McKinney
We left Daytona this morning with destination Inverness at 4:30 a.m. When we finally took off our expected total had dropped from 12 to a faithful 5 runners (guess 4:30 starts don't appeal to everyone). However, I will say that despite not great times from my runners, the trip was well worth it. I think 2 1/2 hours in a car and no sleep has a negative effect on runners.
A great course, well managed race, quick results, good atmosphere....absolutely everything that you look for in a road race.
Re: Citrus Road Runners and Colon Joiner I say this... PLEASE COME TO DAYTONA. It's absolutely great to see a running club involved in the youth of the sport. You did a fantastic job. We will now, not hesitate in the slight when looking at races by your organization throughout the year. It's well worth the extra time, drive to come to such a nice event.
Thanks to your whole crew, from Coach Goddard, all the way across the board to the nice blonde lady taking our registrations. FIRST CLASS EXAMPLE
