A New Beginning...The time has come for me to step down as President. I have spent the last four years dedicating myself to the club and my second term ended in December. A small group of members have started to re-organize the club and return to basics, reducing the number of races we produce and giving the Road Warrior Series a rest for the year. I will remain at the helm, at least for now, through this transition.It was with great reservation that I decided to not continue the Road Warrior Series for a third season. I received many e-mails and phone calls in support of the series, however, without a seperate major sponsor it would have been a wash at best. I have had to refocus our priorities and it's way too much work without a significant benefit to the club. Perhaps we will be able to secure sponsorship for the 2007 season and bring back the series, stronger than ever. I really enjoyed doing it and feel that it brought a whole new group of athletes to many of our races. The race calendar for 2006 has been trimmed to 5 events:Rest assured that the Citrus Road Runners will go on, and races are only a part of who we are. The social runs will continue and our community involvement will remain. We still need your help to get where we want to be.
